October 1, 2014
Please join us on October 24 for the Deepwater Experiential Education Project’s (DEEP) first-ever fundraiser in New York City. DEEP is a non-profit organization which provides funding for young people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to participate in experiential education programs at Northwaters and Langskib Wilderness Programs. Help us send kids on extraordinary and life changing experiences and work with us to create the next generation of leaders.
The event will take place at The Public House on 41st St. and Lexington Ave. from 6- 9 p.m. The three-hour long extravaganza will include drink specials and and a chance to order your drinks from DEEP board members who are guest-bartending for the night! There is a $30 cover to attend the event. All the proceeds help to support DEEP and the truly amazing experiences we help provide to young people. This is the best $30 you’ll spend all year!
The east coast has always been home to a large number of Northwaters and Langskib participants, families and alum. At least a dozen NWL alum and a handful of board members, past and present, currently call this urban wilderness, our home. It is our hope we can reconnect old friends, co-workers and new benefactors with DEEP. We are expecting between 80-100 attendees. Please help us to spread the word. It’s going to be an epic night.
We will also be raffling a number of cool items, including Quest 135 Pakboat Kayak! This kayak packs into a compact bag, complete with your paddling gear and can be checked in as a piece of airline baggage. It’s the perfect boat for city dwellers! Raffle tickets will be sold at the event and are also available to purchase ahead of time on both the DEEP and NWL websites. Raffle tickets are $10 each, 6 for $50, or you can buy an even dozen for $100. The winner does not need to be present to win.
We look forward to see you at this exciting, first-of-its-kind event! If you have any further questions, please contact Liv (email@example.com) or Colby (firstname.lastname@example.org).
