My passion for the outdoors was sparked through my parent’s outfitting company, Smoothwater Outfitters located just North of the town of Temagami. I was paddling before I could walk, constantly seeking adventure and challenge. As I grew, water always seemed to be an integral part of my adventures. At the age of eleven, I began my journey at Northwaters Langskib. My first canoe trip at NWL made a lasting impression. I soon felt a sense of belonging that I had never felt before. I was inspired by strong and capable mentors who encouraged me to be authentic and allowed me the time and space to get to know myself. Each summer my self awareness deepened as I thrived in a magical world of girl power and sisterhood. At NWL, anything was possible with the right mindset and the willingness to try. Now, as a trip leader, I feel honoured to be able to share my knowledge and experience with the young men and women who join our excellent community. Not only it is my chance to create that same magical world, but I have the opportunity to teach others how to harness that magic and bring it home to their communities. During the off season, I live in Kamloops, BC where I am in the process of completing a Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies at Thompson Rivers University with a focus in Adventure Therapy. In my free time you’ll most likely find me running, practicing yoga, and exploring the world by means of my whitewater kayak.
