In 2008 as a 10th birthday gift I was granted the opportunity to make the trek up to Temagami to experience this program that I had heard so much about from family members. Almost a decade later NWL has never failed to surprise me in what I can gain from each summer up here. NWL has given me skills that are not only useful in the north country, but also in the real world. Not a day goes by that I don’t exercise some sort of trait that can be attributed to my learnings as a participant or guide. Along with the experience, the people I have met make up one of the tightest most diverse communities I have ever been a part of and I have made friends for life sharing some of the experiences. In the off-season I am from Philadelphia, but am currently attending University of Colorado, Boulder as a Contracted U.S. Army ROTC Cadet studying Biology. In my spare time I enjoy skiing, kayaking, playing hockey and watching Philadelphia sports teams.
