Reflecting on the months leading up to the start of NWL programming last summer, working in the Boundary Waters and our basecamps in Temagami, and closing the chapter of our 50th season of operation, we are overwhelmed with gratitude.

To our NWL staff and team of directors/administrators, thank you for showing up, for being open to whatever was needed of you, for finding balance on a shifting landscape and working compassionately with young people who deeply needed you.  You are the heroes of a summer that will go down in NWL history!  You are (collectively and individually) what legends are made of.

To our parents, participants, schools and students, thank you for being part of this legendary year of making things happen at NWL!  Thank you for trusting us, committing to us, being incredibly patient and wildly flexible.  We gauged our success from the light in each young person’s eyes as they returned to base after their adventures on trail and spoke in front of the community about their personal growth and learnings.

Finally, to the Ontario Camping Association, our program director Josh Ferguson and the Temiskaming Health Unit, thank you for working diligently together to create and implement a safety plan that allowed us to operate at low risk without compromising the integrity of our programming and core values.  We are proud to report not a single confirmed case of Covid19 affected our spring, summer or fall programming at NWL.

We are profoundly grateful and looking forward to being all together in Temagami in 2022!
